At the start of the pandemic, we felt a large need to share some light, positivity, hope, and celebration throughout our community, so we developed the #LEWISANDCLARKFORDTHANKSYOU Giveaway Event throughout the entire month of April. Every weekday we host a Facebook LIVE video where we ask members of the community to nominate individuals that give back to our community. We started with asking the community to nominate local healthcare workers fighting at the frontline of the pandemic. However, with input from the community this quickly expanded into nominating and recognizing not just healthcare workers, but also teachers, truck drivers, fire fighters, police officers, and more that regularly serve Yankton. We had several viewers tune in every day to cast their nominations and follow who received the most votes or whose name was selected to win $100 in Yankton Chamber Bucks eligible for use in businesses throughout Yankton as a Thank you from Lewis & Clark Ford for their service. We had the lucky winners come in every day after they were selected to receive their gift. In the month of April, we were able to honor, recognize, and gift one individual every weekday throughout the month. The cheer, hope, and love this event spread throughout the community and our immediate facility was very inspiring. Altogether, Lewis & Clark Ford donated $4,800 in the month of April to honor these deserving community individuals committed to service. Search Facebook for the hashtag #lewisandclarkfordthanksyou to view our daily live videos and giveaways.Â
